Cold, but Alive

So, driving home last night in the bitter cold with a bitter attitude about the bitter cold and then the thought hits me:

I am alive. I am breathing. There is life all around me covered in snow and frozen, but still living. We live on a planet that can sustain life within ranges of tolerance despite how vast that range may seem relative to our own experience.

Suddenly, the delicacy of life and a sense of wonder blew through my mind and helped me to hear my heart beat and feel my lungs expand and contract.

So, I will scrape my windows and shovel my walk and I will contemplate the beauty and let it distract from the grumblings of discomfort because I am alive.

  1. Do you mind if I quote a few of your articles as long as I provide credit and sources back to your site? My website is in the exact same niche as yours and my users would certainly benefit from a lot of the information you provide here. Please let me know if this ok with you. Appreciate it!

  2. Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any points for first-time blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.

    1. I’ll be honest that I feel like I have a great deal to learn about blogging also. I’ve been very hit or miss and gone for very long gaps of time without posting many seasons. One amazing blogger I like to mention is Seth Godin and he has a lot of really good advice that is complemented by his daily commitment to writing really good pieces!
